Welcome to this issue of our Newsletter.
Quite a lot going on, so with mainly pictures and a few words will try to capture the excitement.
Projects
Mike and his Building Team, have the framing complete and shown here getting the roof all watertight on the Pallet Storage area.

Progress continues with the Pallet Storage shed. Mike and his team of helpers have the roof on and concreting the floor is underway – Mascot “Bo” saw fit to make his imprint, which led to a bollocking from Mike and a forced paw washing from Bruce.
Malcolm, our headman in the Metal Working department is welding up a mechanical Pallet Breaker, which will take some of the back breaking effort out of the kindling process.

A big shout out to the Pallet Crew who are doing a fantastic job keeping up with supplying both Picton and Spring Creek Four Square Stores with our value packs of kindling.
Garage Sale
Hats off to Rex and his helpers, the Three Day Garage Sale was well laid out, created a lot of interest and brought in the handsome sum of $1800, good news for our Treasury.

Shed Social

We had pretty much a full house when we had a review of the February Questionaire. We had good feed back that helps to set some direction going forward.
Our first Shed Cafe event heralded a great sunny morning where where it was good to catch up with some shed wives and several visitors.. Neville, our resident performance poet, gave us a rollicking rendition of one of his original works.

Health and Safety
As part of our ongoing committment to Mens Health – On Wednesday 4th June Amanda Inkster from Nelson Bays Primary Health, gave us an impressive presentation on Falls Prevention along with a take home folder full of good advice.

Questionaire Follow-up
Several weeks back, following Smoko, we had a Workshop discussion on the points raised by members in the February/March. Thankyou for the good attendance and discussion, its good to get a wide range of views and give the opportunity for everyone to have a say and the recorded points give some direction to our Committee. The following points were noted:
- Agreed that Community Groups could approach us for assistance rather than us try to target any particular one.
- The idea to put aside a percentage of “Kindling Income” was considered, but put aside for the present as our Treasurer pointed out we were re-investing any income in our current building projects eg the pallet storage shed and upcoming recladding of the front and side walls of our main building.
- We should instigate a Falls Prevention Workshop
- Idea raised of some form of Exercise Group – such as Walking/Cycling/Tai Chi
- A formalised system for In house training, evaluating and recording machine and equipment operating approval.
- Suggested Board Room could be developed for IT training and chat room
- Monthly Shed Social Activities have been well received and Social Committee will draw up and publicise ongoing activities.
